ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) summoned Advocate General Islamabad on Thursday for assistance in a case seeking court’s intervention for the registration of a criminal case against Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz.
A single bench of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani issued directions while hearing a petition filed by Muhammad Jibran Nasir requesting the court to set aside an order of the district court and direct the respondents to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Aziz, his wife, and students of Jamia Hafsa for pledging allegiance to Daish.
Earlier, the Interior Minister of Pakistan Nisar Ali Khan submitted reply before the bench in compliance with court orders and sought more time to discuss the matter with ministry of law. The bench granted time to the ministry of interior and summoned AG on next hearing for assistance while adjourning the case till July 12.
